Wanna Be A Doll
With Hot Shock arriving on 7th March, 2025 there’s not too much longer to wait for the album. In the meantime, HotWax have let us have ‘Wanna Be A Doll’, which joins ‘She’s Got A Problem’ as our early previews.
Compared to ‘She’s Got A Problem’, this song has a streak of Britpop with it’s bass run and guitar stabs. The chorus has a bit of drive that contrasts with the verse’s stutter.
This was the first song we wrote for the album, we rewrote it in so many different ways and it ended up pretty similar to the first version, which seems to be how it goes. It’s a song where I am writing about myself from someone else’s point of view, being self aware of my bad – sometimes destructive – traits.

I’m a huge fan of this single. It’s always dangerous to get too excited about an album based on just two songs, but I have a definite nervous anticipation for the long player. Please let the album be this good!
