The Autonomy Within
Praise the Broken

South Wales metal band, The Autonomy Within, are a band looking for a record deal and if ‘Praise the Broken’ is anything to go by, this a serious aspiration.

It’s a fiery metal sound with uncompromising heaviness, but to a certain extent it’s quite easy to get into if you aren’t a metal fan. There’s some Lost Prophet style vocals in amongst the burning rage of metal screams and the chorus is actually very hooky.

The best interaction between these two vocal styles is in ‘Simple Man’ where they bounce off each other in a chalk and cheese battle that neither can ever win.

The guitars take a break from their dirty riffs momentarily in ‘War Drums’ for a glassy intro piece that adds some much need variety to the songs.

The Autonomy Within are a metal band with a big sound to match their big ambitions and they look convincingly scary in their picture too.
