Get Amped
Token X-Mas Song

With a combination of their own surf-emu sound, a bit of Good Charlotte, and a taste of the Dum Dums, Get Amped’s tongue in cheek Christmas offering was a special thanks to those that propelled them up the download singles chart to number two last week (second only to Band Aid 20’s ‘Do They Know it’s Christmas’ and safely ahead of The Thrills, Queen, and Franz Ferdinand!).

It has to be said, for what is obviously a humorous effort from the South-Coast three piece, the quality is incredibly high and the song itself is actually rather catchy as well. The lyrics contain the social commentary that was a heavy feature of the Phoney Society album as well as some less deep observations such as ‘Eat more pies – bust your flies’ and ‘Ho-Ho-Ho… Empty My Sacks’.

This record is not available anywhere (including Woolies)!
