Fiction / Action - Missing Control

Fiction / Action
Missing Control

At first glance, you might mistake Fiction / Action’s ‘Missing Control’ for a bit of a deconstructed indie track. However, it’s when the chorus first sinks its enormous claws into proceedings that you realise that there’s a gritty rock undercurrent and some really pissed-off vocals at the disposal of this band.

This really is a case of Pavement meets Husker Du in a dark alley – with no clear winner (except maybe me, as I love this track.)

It’s got a violent jangle and urgent vocals, and as the music sweetens out the singer lands a near-scream for the chorus. It’s angular, oddly shaped, and wonderful.
