Ufomammut - Lucifer Songs

Ufomammut
Lucifer Songs EP

Ufomammut have already written this review for me, and quite succinctly: ‘repetitious heavy metal sounds’. Not just a lyric on the opening track of their mini-album, it’s a veritable synopsis of the whole release because, as sporadically good as this is, even with only six songs it becomes a little too much.

The vocals, for instance, are so far back in the mix of track two that you strain to hear them, which becomes a pain in the arse after 30 seconds. Also, though the songs themselves are varied and make good use of a range of samples and beats, each track does its own thing for just that little bit too long, and makes for tiring and uncomfortable listening.

They say too much of a good thing is bad for you. Ufomammut, take heed!
