Blue and green record exploding into shards

The Kases
Stand Alone Johnny

While ‘Stand Alone Johnny’ is a good enough song, it’s a bit too much of a tribute to Bon Jovi. Influence is one thing, but this is out-and-out mimicry.

If you were writing up the essential element of Bon Joviality, you’d be hard-pressed to find a failing here. The vocal, guitar, and drum style for starters. Then there’s the stadium anthem chorus, the oo-wah oo-wah vocoder, and perhaps most importantly… the song is about someone called Johnny.

To be fair, there is no mention of working on the docks, but surely this record is the work of some major fans!
