Governors of California
Pressure Points
This CD remains available despite the fact that the band split earlier this year. The punk rock Birmingham foursome definitely reach out to a niche sector of the market.
It’s loud, it’s shouting, it’s thrashing. It’s punk. Each track begins just as sharply as it ends, going right into the tune – no long melodic intros here.
If you like fast paced sounds with high energy hyperactive vocals, then this is for you. ‘Take Aim Shoot’ offers perhaps the most melodic or tuneful track, and actually appears to conform to a rhythm.
Overall tracks don’t conform to any well known influences, and could benefit from a little more discipline or ‘tightness’.
