Palm Lakes - Desert Love

Palm Lakes
Desert Love

Accompanied by an epic video, ‘Desert Love’ is a surprisingly complex retrowave single from Goober Gun side-project Palm Lakes.

As a single, it’s got a bit of everything as it builds from a sparse drift into a massive emotive finale. This is a sincere love letter to the eighties, which taken alongside previous singles ‘Nothing to Me’, ‘Satellite’, and the sax-tastic ‘Falling In Love Again’ adds something of a twist to the Palm Lakes sound.

Picking a specific 1980s reference would be unfair. There are flickers of new wave, for sure, but some of the melodies and musical elements hint at pop and rock influences too. It’s a rich blend, but most importantly a great listen.
