Militarie Gun - Life Under The Sun

Militarie Gun
Life Under The Sun EP

Twisting the title and some of the songs from their album, Life Under The Gun, this EP from Militarie Gun is a set of alternate versions with a side order of collaboration!

In terms of those collaborations, you’ll find Bully, Mannequin Pussy, and Manchester Orchestra here. There’s also a cover version is the NOFX classic ‘Whoops I OD’d’. The songs are stripped back a lot, so there’s more of an acoustic vibe in general on this EP – though there are electric edges and synth pumps smuggled within.

The songs don’t have the urgent vibe of the album and the vocal is dropped to a more languid style, with an overall more psychedelic feel. I’m a huge fan of the album, these songs are an enjoyable treat, but I have to admit it made me itch for the edginess of the originals.
