With a full title of ‘Me & My Friends (We’re Trying Abestos We Can)’, the latest track from Air Drawn Dagger has both the richest wall of noise tone and their most visceral bridge.

It drops straight into a chorus, first the kind of kick and snare format you’d get when you want the crowd to sing it, then a massive anthemic noisy anthemic version. Then the verse emerges and the slamming beat gets more groove. The song gets flipped on its head for the dark screamed section, and they use the gentlest chorus rendition straight after as a contrast snap.

So, musically, this song has it all going on and it’s got high polish. However, this is a song that punches from the lyrics as much as from the music. What can I say? It’s the most 2026 vibe you can imagine. The chorus line of ‘Me and my friends are looking ahead / To the coffin ’cause we’re all pretty tired of this’ catches the mood, but the subtlety in the verse of ‘I’m needed but useless / Productive and fruitless’ worker anthem seems to be echoed in the cash register bell.

There is certainly a big epic sing-along chorus in this track, but it’s substantial in other ways, too.

Me And My Friends Lyrics

Take my hands and hold my head
Every single one of us will end up dead
Me and my friends been looking ahead
To the coffin ’cause we’re all pretty tired of this
Take my hands and hold my head
Every single one of us will end up dead
Me and my friends been looking ahead
To the coffin ’cause we’re all pretty tired of this

It’s not looking so good for me guys
Ending it all looking like the prize
But my schedules packed
So when could my veins run dry
I’m needed but useless
Productive and fruitless
I’m starting as they call time
When I’m sober I’m speechless
When I’m drunk I’m ceaseless
Lock me up at least I’m safe inside

Take my hands and hold my head
Every single one of us will end up dead
Me and my friends been looking ahead
To the coffin ’cause we’re all pretty tired of this

I quit
Oh my gosh I give in
I’ve been wearing the wrong shoes for far too long
And my feet are bloody and blistered
This coat’s far too big
The sleeves keep falling over my hands
And I can’t get a grip

Take my hands and hold my head
Every single one of us will end up dead
Me and my friends been looking ahead
To the coffin ’cause we’re all pretty tired of this

If I’m being honest
I’ve never been better
In the trenches and I know it
Let’s end this together
If I’m being honest
I’ve never been better
In the trenches and I know it
Let’s end this together

What the fuck

Take my hands and hold my head
Every single one of us will end up dead
Me and my friends been looking ahead
To the coffin ’cause we’re all pretty tired of this

Me and my friends been looking ahead
To the coffin ’cause we’re all pretty tired of this

Me and my friends been looking ahead
To the coffin ’cause we’re all pretty tired of this
