The Mono Jacks - O să încep de luni

The Mono Jacks
O să încep de luni

Jump to...

Translating to ‘I’ll Start on Monday’, ‘O să încep de luni’ is a jumping indie-rock track from The Mono Jacks that sees the protagonist constantly planning to do great things… later!

The song contrasts the era of self-help and personal development, pushing us all to be high achievers with the difficulty of getting started. The lyrics are tongue-in-cheek, and the tune is perfectly upbeat and up-tempo.

The fuzzy intro has a motif buzzing away that provides the backing for the verse. The drums roll on the toms for the verse, making space for the vocal. There’s a loop around for a second verse, which builds anticipation for the chorus, which takes things up a notch or two.

The video is a one-shot moving ultra-wide angle of the band performing the song in a room, which goes full fish-eye at some points the camera seemingly floats around the room.

Let’s face it, we all hit that wall of procrastination at some point (are you with me, fellow writers!) We’ve all found ourselves re-organising bookshelves by colour or laying face down on a plain carpet instead of getting on with something challenging. It’s part of the human condition.

I’m certainly going to make an effort to write more reviews. The most reviews you’ve ever seen. They’re going to be great reviews. The greatest. And I’m going to start on Monday.

O să încep de luni Lyrics (Translation)

I have
Still postponed
The years have passed
I’m still at the start
Not
I’m not crazy at all
This time I have a master plan
And I’ll start on Monday

I have
Confidence
I’ll take you all
By surprise
I’m determined
Be careful what they tell you
I also wrote down a day on the calendar
And I’ll start on Monday

I’ll read
What’s left to read
I’ll start a sport
And I won’t leave anything out
I will make it
Getting better and better
I’m going to start, I’m going to start, I’m going to start
I’ll start on Monday

I’m not going to fall prey to it
My vices
I know I care about myself
That I also care about them
I’m going to change the tune
I take it on a different path
And no one’s going to keep up with me.
I’ll start on Monday

I’ll read
What’s left to read
I’ll start a sport
And I won’t leave anything out
I will make it
Getting better and better
I’m going to start, I’m going to start, I’m going to start, I’m going to start
From Monday

On Monday!
