Mike TV
Single

‘Single’ is the new single from ex-Pickled-Dicks, Mike TV and represents the first record with their new 33 percent extra line-up.

This is great news for old and new fans alike as they’ve retained their intensely hooky punk-revival style and slick harmonies… and the chorus is as big as ever. This is a band that have been inspired by a genre and then gone on to hijack it for their own; no one else does this as well as Mike TV do it.

The addition of guitarist Rikki Rocket is perhaps evidenced in the harmonic guitar solo, as solos were never a huge part of the old sound, but it really is a case of subtle additions rather than complete direction-shifting. That’s good news as far as I’m concerned.

Mike TV are a great band and I really hope they do well with their new name, lineup and of course, with ‘Single’.
