Just Like You
Just two tracks of music created purely as an expression of boredom, it’s best not to set your sights too high with Dog!, but that in itself is special. They muster cheeriness and positivity in such a short space of time and synthesizing adds depth to the perfectly drawn out guitars, using every whiny note to their advantage.
Not grown out of big issues or a as a fight back to society, ‘Just Like You’ borders on danceable radio rock, striking in its simplicity. There’s not a great deal of variation between each track, but they make good use of the bass drum in ‘Red and Blue’ forming a sturdy backbone to dip their toes into the darker side.
Taking more risks with their guitars would experiment with a greater sound but generally the music is what pulls these tracks through, especially when the vocals waver on the flimsy side. A promising start for these talented office workers!
