Blue and green record exploding into shards

Sam Kearney
Unlearn

Sam Kearney returns in style with a more mature songwriting style and a greater sense of melody and dynamics.

‘Unlearn’ flickers from high to low notes, countered by plucked guitars that are rich and warm. The production is as close as ever, very stripped and natural and all the better for it. The songs, though, are more interesting than before with a bit of variation of tempo and rhythm. This could be Lisa Loeb after converting to folk and the result is bright and fresh.

Sam is on the up and the EP penciled in for Spring 2008 should be worth checking out.
