Emigrate
New York City

With a solid history as Rammstein’s guitarist and a promising future since being selected for the next Resident Evil movie, Richard Z Kruspe’s new band, Emigrate, are set to take over Europe with their sci-fi-rock sound.

‘New York City’ starts off with a nice bit of guitar and pounding toms, which when accompanied by the deep voice hint at Iggy Pop a la ‘The Passenger’ The chorus hits a higher register and creates tons of contrast to the swirling verse.

There’s a ton of smoking rock, a generous drenching of electronica and it has the appeal of a reasonably well known model (once someone points them out, you know damn well you would).

Look out for the eponymous LP, the soundtrack and the music-video that will be back-dropped by a PVC-clad Milla Jovich.
