Blue and green record exploding into shards

The Defiled
Red Tape

It’s a journey into a destructive sounding metal landscape for The Defiled as they crash and bleed their way through the spiked sound of ‘Red Tape’.

The all important mix of shred and melody is firmly present in the vocals, which are accompanied by the most visceral guitars, explosive drums and wired keyboards ever to grace the genre. Though the instrumental section at the end of the track borders on self-gratification, it’s still a really good song.

‘Permanent Reminder’ has a great pace, grinding out a bounce and providing plenty of rhythm, which is echoed in the gnarly guitars.

The darkest of this triplet is ‘The End of Innocence’, which buries itself in scary depths of intensity.

The Defiled are an impressive metal band with lots to offer in terms of variety. It may scare unwitting listeners and even seriously disturb the family pet, but it’s a cracking record for those angry moments.
