The Housewives
Getaway
The Housewives are a scuzzy-pop band that tip their hats to The Doors with their sparky Hammond playing and to The Streets with their talky-geezer vocals.
You have to wait for the third track, ‘Shoreditch Vampires’ before something interesting happens on this single. Suddenly there’s a groove, a vocal and some great hooks – all of which are absent from the first two efforts.
Why they chose ‘Getaway’ over this song for the a-side, I’ll never know.
