I See Orange - Mental Rot

After asking you to come here, I See Orange slam down a thick beat and buzzing guitars in ‘Mental Rot’. It sounds wiry and heavy on the bass when everything kicks in at the end of each phrase in the verse and I’m hooked in.

You know it’s a good track when you like it before the pre-chorus has finished. In this case, the chorus is solid, but it’s just cherry on the cake at this point. The song has a heavy groovy that I love and the chugging, riffing, and fizzy sounding hi-hat all contribute to the success of the sound.

Now, the ultra-picky amongst you might see the opportunity to cut a few bars from the middle or from the outro, but I honestly think if you were sweating in front of stage you’d want to keep every last one. Either way it doesn’t do anything to ruin this stomping rock track.

Mental Rot Lyrics

Pss… Hey!, Ven aqui!

I’d sell my soul, take it all but please do it slow
You came along, take the heat, vamos a Mexico
a gentle touch, so close, love torture begun
distort it all, make it mad, love and leave me alive

I feel it gnawing up
It’s getting to the core

It’s mental rot, I’m all of yours
You make me feel incredible
carved in my bones, indelible
You turn it all so dangerous

I don’t belong, never did, never was, never will
It’ll be fine, make me cry, get me emotional
Just touch and go, love hurts
It’s the drug I’m hooked on
I dare you, break my heart
kill me kind million times

I feel it burning slow
Like you’re the witches brew

It’s mental rot, I’m all of yours
You make me feel incredible
carved in my bones, indelible
You turn me on, it’s dangerous

It’s mental rot, I’m all of yours
You make me feel incredible
carved in my bones, indelible
You turn it all so dangerous
