Hellcyon
One Man Standing

Hellcyon start their latest single with a rather more serious song than we’re used to. ‘One Man Standing’ is a chugging rocker with a scorching solo and a fist-pumping chorus.

The maturity continues in the excellently-expectant ‘Going Nowhere’, with sparkly guitars and warm plucked sections. The chorus is mellow and releaxed and it all makes for a good foot-stomping release at the end.

‘Psycho Freako’ is a return to familiar territoty, a funky rock number with a huge chorus that’s become something of a fan-fave at live shows.

This EP is a big step forward for Hellcyon, with the right balance of songs If they can find a singer with the confidence, voice and performance to replace the outgoing (and out-going) Pedro, they’re bound to notch up more points in the future.
