Stand Atlantic
kill[h]er

This is an instant classic from Stand Atlantic. ‘kill[h]er’ chugs, splashes, and rocks its way straight onto my playlist with its choppy delights. There are expletives, flashing lights, and splatters of blood coming, so reader discretion is advised…

I’m surprised to find the song lands at a little over two minutes, it packs a lot in! Starting with an ambient intro and quietly sparkling verse, the song develops by treating the first chorus as its own pre-chorus. All that restraint makes the actual chorus pop. After a loop around, it launches into a solo that spins out of the melody into a creative whirl. Then it’s the outro and all done.

As the outro lands you back in the territory of the intro, the song wraps rather neatly. This is good because you’re going to listen to it on repeat.

Lyrically, it’s in the zone fans would expect from Stand Atlantic, exploring emotions through your bloodstream and taste buds. Equally, the rhythmic stabs they do so well provide really interesting movements in the sound.

The song is dark, like you’d expect from the title, but it’s oiled up and shines nonetheless.

Watch Stand Atlantic – kill[h]er (flashing images, violent scenes).

Kill[her] Lyrics

I’m a killer, kill[h]er, killer

What the fuck is wrong with me?
Naked for your sanity
Strip my personality
Getting high on atrophy
The fuck is wrong with me?

Got me runnin’ low on self esteem
Treat me like a little amphetamine
What the fuck is wrong with me?
I’m naked for your sanity

I’m a killer, kill[h]er, killer
Sink your dirty teeth in
Swallowing cinnamon
I’m a killer, kill[h]er, killer
Got a little taste of my own medicine

Shiver in your cold eyes
Pretend I dont mind
Pleading for my life
Wish I was outta sight
The fuck is wrong with my mind?

Got me runnin low on self esteem
Treat me like a little amphetamine
What the fuck is wrong with me?
I’m naked for your sanity
