Tired Eyes
Jump to...
With all the familiar atmospheric intensity, Lastelle blend their melodies and screams into a whipped up slamming song. For something that comes in somewhere around the four-minute mark, they sure make it feel epic by shifting through the different moments.
Throughout the song, the guitar haunts the song’s motif, surfacing the notes like an echo in space. There are some smart ideas baked into the beat and the rhythmic dodges, but not so much smart the song suffers (it is possible to lose a song if the clever stuff takes too much air). Lastelle keep the song front, centre, and heartfelt…
Was it me? Was I holding on so tightly,
That the spark that fed the fire,
Starved by its own desire?
The giant middle eight is planet-sized and leads to a chorus and outro that slams everything down. By making all their songs such epic blasts, they sure are making their job difficult when it comes to smashing out a whole live set of this stuff. They’re going to finish their set utterly broken and the crew will have to drag their limp forms from the stage.
This band leave nothing in reserve with these songs.

Tired Eyes Lyrics
Tired eyes. Aching hearts,
Long for the same warmth.
Close my tired eyes.Close my tired eyes.
Wishing for surrender,
I gave myself to you
In hope that you’d pull me through.
But your grip starts to wane.Where’s the line,
Between love and dependency?
How can I tell what is real or a fallacy,
Of my design?
Was I putting all of my trust in blind faith
Or false hopes?Tired eyes. Aching hearts,
Long for the same warmth
Close my tired eyes. Was it me? Was I holding on so tightly,
That the spark that fed the fire,
Starved by its own desire?
Or was I wasting time?
Trying to pretend that it was love that you felt,
When every word that you spoke meant farewell. You’re spinning me,
Spinning me around.
I can’t keep my feet on the ground.
You’re bringing me,
Bringing me down,
But can’t catch me.Tired eyes. Aching hearts,
I would walk. I would wait,
’til my feet give from the weight.
Long for the same warmth.
Close my tired eyes. Aching hearts,
I would walk. I would wait,
Long for the same warmth.
’til my feet give from the weight.
Close my tired eyes,And let me dream of a place,
Where your absence isn’t killing me.
Where my mind can go to escape,
The very thing that was keeping me here. The very thing that was keeping me here.
Tired eyes. Aching hearts,
Long for the same warmth.
Close my tired eyes. Aching hearts,
I would walk. I would wait,
Long for the same warmth.
’til my feet give from the weight.
Close my tired eyes.Close my tired eyes.
