Bleach Lab
Nothing Left To Lose

Jump to...

Working up to an album launch on September 22nd, Bleach Lab have released ‘Nothing Left To Lose’. This is a bright bittersweet song with trademark richness. This is the last single before the LP comes out.

This song matches ‘Indigo’ for pace, both being a little faster than the other songs of the album so far. It smoulders beneath the sparkle, musically, and the lift for the chorus is a powerful emotive shift.

‘Nothing Left To Lose’ is about the nervous start of a relationship, lyrically never fully resolving but teetering right on the edge after the middle eight throws a different colour of light on the final chorus. Will they break down the walls and move forward (‘nothing left to lose if you dive right in’), or just walk away from it all (‘if you’re half in, you’re already out’)?

‘When oceans collide, there’s a different blue on each side’ is one of my favorite lyrics of the album. I’d read a story that day about a place in the world where two bodies of water meet but don’t mix, and I loved that idea as a metaphor for colliding with someone else and not seeing eye to eye. Both strong forces in your own way but unable to blend together.

Jenna Kyle

The song is a perfect addition to the track listing for Lost In A Rush Of Emptiness.

Bleach Lab are playing in Netherlands and France in October before returning to the UK and Ireland in November for a handful of tour dates.

Nothing Left To Lose Lyrics

Honestly, this was never what I wanted
Too scared to jump, so I stay just where I started
Baby, if you’re feeling down
And you want me to hang around
You’ll find me where you left me
I’m not moving for anything

Placid blue, you see me move
Hair still wet on a sunny day
And my eyes share the same with you
Tearful and blue
Nothing left to lose
If you dive right in, not knowing where you’re heading

When oceans collide
There’s a different blue on each side
If you don’t like what you see
Is there something on your mind?

Placid blue, you see me move
Hair still wet on a sunny day
And my eyes share the same with you
Tearful and blue
Nothing left to lose
If you dive right in, not knowing where you’re heading

I’m too sad to get over you
But I wanted to
I’m too tired, I can’t look at you
But I wanted to
If you’re half in, you’re already out
Am I enough for you, am I enough?
I’m too sad to get over you
But I wanted to

Placid blue, you see me move
Hair still wet on a sunny day
And my eyes share the same with you
Tearful and blue
Nothing left to lose
If you dive right in, not knowing where you’re heading
If you dive right in, not knowing where you’re heading
